About Us

About Us

HealthPoint Pediatrics was opened in the fall of 2004 with a goal of bringing personalized, expert pediatric care to Fayette and surrounding counties. We base everything we do on trust and mutual respect.

We offer:

  • preventive care for healthy children and
  • treatment for those who are acutely or chronically ill

We blend together both

  • traditional and
  • alternative views on medicine.

We use this integration to develop unique and individualized approaches to the diagnosis and management of many medical and behavioral problems, such as:

  • chronic abdominal pain
  • weight problems
  • asthma
  • allergies
  • ADHD
  • Autism, and many others.

We are concerned with all aspects of your child’s health, including his/her

  • physical
  • mental
  • emotional

well-being, in every stage of development and in good health or in illness.

We understand that health issues can be confusing, so we will work with you to answer any questions you may have. And, because we believe that healthy habits start early, we will offer you helpful advice, tools, and tips to ensure that your child stays well.

Please browse our website for additional information, visit our kid-friendly office located at 105 Greencastle Rd, Ste.A in Tyrone or call us today at 770-631-1040 to schedule an appointment.

  • Prenatal visits

We strongly encourage every expecting family to have a prenatal visit, where the parents can ask any questions about pregnancy, delivery, and early newborn care. During these visits we also talk about diet and supplementation with vitamins and minerals, which play important role in both mother’s and baby’s health.

  • Well child examinations

Such as recommended routine well child examinations, sports and camp physicals, and pre-op and pre-procedure clearance examinations.

  • Immunizations

We provide all necessary immunizations recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and offering both traditional and alternative immunization schedules.  We work with each individual family in order to provide all necessary information needed for making an informed decision on choosing the appropriate immunization schedule for their child.

  • Acute and chronic illnesses

Acutely ill child is always an emergency for the family. In HealthPoint Pediatrics we understand that and try to make every effort to see the sick child the same day. This frequently saves the family from spending long hours in the Urgent Care Center or Emergency Department. We also manage full spectrum of chronic pediatric problems, such as asthma, allergies, eczema, ADHD, and many others.

  • Minor injuries

Our office is fully equipped to take care of minor injuries, such as sprains and strains, certain fractures and lacerations, burns, abrasions, and concussions among others.

  • Integrative and functional medicine

In our office we try to blend together both traditional and alternative views on medicine. We use this integration to develop unique and individualized approaches to the diagnosis and management of many medical and behavioral problems, such as chronic abdominal pain, asthma, allergies, ADHD, autism, and many others

  • ADHD and Autism

Autism spectrum disorders are becoming increasingly more common in our society.  In their diagnosis and management we use both traditional and biomedical approaches to achieve the best result possible.

  • Laboratory

Many common tests are done routinely in our office. Among them are rapid strep, flu, mono, H/H, urine, pregnancy, and stool tests. If the testing cannot be done in the office we will arrange for the sample to be sent to a reference laboratory. For your convenience a nurse in our office can draw the blood.

  • Hearing and Vision tests

On top of the visual acuity and audiometry tests required for school, we have ability to perform tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions and visual evoked potentials tests, which are very useful in many clinical situations.

  • Ultrasonography

In our office we have a very experienced sonographer and up to date equipment, and perform many types of ultrasonic examinations, such as thyroid, abdominal, pelvic, retroperitoneal, breast, vascular, soft tissue, and joint among others. We found this ability to be very convenient and time saving for our patients.

Our appointments are monitored closely, with our average time before seeing a doctor being less than 10 minutes and the average total time spent in our office less than 40 minutes.

Same day appointments are available for acute illnesses and minor emergencies such as lacerations or fractures. We do recommend calling first to make sure the staff knows that you will be arriving.

After business hours, our telephone answering service takes patient calls. Your message will be handled by either a nurse from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta or the physician on call.
